People ask me why I don’t. George Carlin explains it best for me.

I will consider voting when they start tackling the issues important to me including

1. Minimum quality requirements for anyone calling themselves an Elvis Tribute Artist.
2. Death penalty for anyone who harms or neglects a basset hound
3 Felony charges and mandatory prison sentence for anyone with 11 or more items in the “10 Items or Less” lane
4. Parking tickets for backer inners..except for Bill Dolan
5. National holidays honoring Elvis Presley, Albert Ellis, Hector Camacho and John D. MacDonald.

  1. BD says:

He went by “String’m Up Tom” in the Old West!

    That’s a heck of a platform.
    I’d vote for ya, Tom.

  2. Maria C says:

Sorry Tom, I just don’t buy it. Sure Carlin is a charming, witty, intelligent hipster but his argument conjures up Edmund Burke’s quote “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing…” Granted, there are the larger forces at work. People are fallible and the system is corrupt but I’ll be dammed if I’m gonna opt out and then claim higher ground. You gotta try. Sometimes we get it right. Take Buster’s Law…just saying.

  3. Jen Forbus says:

Well, since I care about the economy, health care, illegal immigration, a war our country is involved in, jobs, education…yeah, I guess with that logic I should be voting tomorrow.
