If we’re teaching our three year-olds, the answer is “Never!”

But what about in real life?

To protect the vulnerable?

Join the Club over at Face!book

To teach an disrespecting loudmouth a lesson?

Strictly for self defense?

As a preemptive strike?

Or is there a certain code that defines when someone deserves a shot…say, someone insults your woman/ man/ mom?

Someone is insulting someone who can’t hit?

Someone is just such an asshole that the world will be better if his nose is broken?

Someone is a Red Sox fan and is (as they usually are) talking?

What do you think?

  1. Maria Conto says:

Self-defense, which includes the preemptive strike, and always to protect the vulnerable. Beyond that I can be swayed to take a swing at Billy Bluetooth & the Red Sux fan.

  2. (I agree, Red Sox fans always could use a slap upside the head.)

I tell my boys, don’t ever throw the first punch, but make sure that yours is the last.

  3. tjs9261 says:

Your boys will be okay…and Maria–I like the way you think!
